Wiz Brochure Brings GBA Pixel Art to PC
From a retro angle that should land well with readers in London and beyond, Japanese doujin circle Pixelepus has announced Wiz Brochure, an indie role-playing game for PC that uses the Game Boy Advance’s native 240x160 resolution for its pixel art style.
The game’s Steam page is live, but Pixelepus has not shared a release window yet. According to the store listing, Wiz Brochure follows a young girl who starts without sorcery abilities, is guided by monsters, and then learns to guide them in return for the sake of herself, her loved ones, and her village.
Pixelepus has also launched a YouTube channel and posted a 30-second trailer based on a demo build. That demo will be shown at Sapporo Game Odyssey this weekend, on 7 June. The game is currently planned for Japanese release only, although some English terms, including location names, will appear in the game.
The choice of 240x160 is the key retro detail here. It is the Game Boy Advance’s native screen resolution, so this is not just a general pixel-art look, it is a direct technical reference to Nintendo’s handheld era. For players who care about authentic handheld presentation, that makes Wiz Brochure stand out straight away.
That kind of resolution-led design has a clear appeal for retro fans using modern handhelds too, especially devices that scale classic games cleanly.
