Morph 2K Upscaler Pre-Orders Open in Retro Gaming
For retro gamers in England and beyond, Pixel FX has opened pre-orders for the Morph 2K, a new video upscaler priced at $199. It is aimed at players who want to connect original consoles to modern displays without giving up too much image quality or adding heavy input lag.
The Morph 2K converts video signals from 240p to 1080p and outputs 1080p or 1440p HDMI at 60Hz, while keeping 4:4:4 colour resolution. According to RetroDodo, it supports composite video, SCART, S-Video, component video and VGA, which gives it broad compatibility across the retro hardware scene.
It also includes ultra-low-lag and fully buffered framelock modes, motion adaptive deinterlacing, MagicLock dynamic video lock, dynamic scanlines, integrated audio input for analogue and digital sources, WiFi for system and preset updates, and a MicroSD card slot for user files. Those are the sort of practical touches that matter when you are trying to keep old kit usable on a modern setup.
Pixel FX is positioning the Morph 2K as a lower-cost alternative to higher-end upscalers. RetroDodo compares it with the RetroTINK 4K Pro at $750 and the 4K-CE at $475, which puts the Morph 2K in a much more accessible bracket for players who want to stay with original hardware rather than move to emulation.
Pre-orders placed before 19 June, or until the first batch sells out, include a Pixel FX VGA2SCART adapter, a dual RCA to 3.5mm audio adapter, and a MicroSD card bundle valued at $30. Shipments are expected around eight to ten weeks after the pre-order window closes. The Morph 2K is available directly from Pixel FX, and readers can keep up with more hardware news on our News tag page.
