Metro Siege Hits Kickstarter Goal for Amiga
From the UK retro scene, there is good news for Amiga fans, BitBeamCannon’s Metro Siege has comfortably passed its Kickstarter goal. The 16-bit beat ’em up is being made for Amiga, Neo Geo and PC, with the campaign still having 28 days left to run.
The project has raised £24,885 so far, against a target of £13,817. That strong start suggests there is still plenty of appetite for new brawlers on classic hardware, especially when they are built with the look and feel of the arcade era in mind.
The game is being developed as a co-operative side-scrolling brawler, with the Amiga version expected to arrive first. The PC and Neo Geo editions are set to follow, and the PC release will be available through Steam and itch.io.
Players who buy the digital PC version of Metro Siege will also get access to all three platform versions. The three editions will share a core roster of three selectable fighters, but there will be gameplay differences between them, which should give each version its own feel.
