Final Fantasy X House Grooves Lands in 2026
For retro game fans in the UK, there is fresh news from Square Enix, as Final Fantasy X is getting a new soundtrack album for its 25th anniversary. Final Fantasy X - House Grooves is set for release on 22 July 2026, bringing a new take on some of the game’s best-known music.
The album is the second entry in the House Grooves series, following Final Fantasy IX - House Grooves, which launched earlier this year. According to the official description reported by CBR.com, the release features songs from Final Fantasy X with deep house influences, and is meant to feel fresh while still familiar.
Final Fantasy X first launched on PlayStation 2 in 2001 and became one of the series’ most loved entries. Its music, by Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano, has remained a big part of its appeal, alongside the game’s story and characters. The game later received a direct sequel, Final Fantasy X-2, plus HD remasters on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation Vita and Xbox One.
The new album will include 12 tracks, among them Prelude, Thunder Plains, Macalania Woods, Auron's Theme and Fight With Seymour. Artists confirmed for the project include Lonely Boy, DJ Synthesizer, Kai Saruwatari, HAIOKA, JT Donaldson and Andreas Saag. The album will cost 3,300 yen, about 21 USD, and digital versions are already available to download in Japan.
