Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration is set to receive its most significant expansion yet with The Namco Legendary Pack arriving on 13th November 2025.

This collaboration between Atari and Bandai Namco brings several iconic arcade classics to the comprehensive retro gaming collection, marking another milestone in the celebration of 50 years of video game history. The announcement confirms that British retro gaming enthusiasts will soon have access to even more preserved classics through this ambitious digital museum project.

Furthermore, the expansion includes multiple versions of beloved titles such as Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Dig Dug, and Xevious specifically designed for Atari hardware. Additionally, players can explore an entirely new interactive timeline dedicated to Namco's history within the Atari ecosystem. The package also features video interviews, archival materials, documents, and photographs from the era, providing crucial context about these gaming landmarks. Consequently, this represents more than just a game collection—it's an educational journey through gaming's formative years.

Meanwhile, the core Atari 50 experience continues to impress with its innovative approach to gaming preservation. At the heart of the package are Interactive Timelines that seamlessly blend historical trivia, digital artifacts, over 60 minutes of new interviews, documentary footage, and playable games into one cohesive experience. When you encounter a game in the Timelines, you can immediately play it without losing your place—a feature that has been widely praised by preservationists and gamers alike.

The massive selection now spans seven different platforms: Arcade, 2600, 5200, 7800, Atari 8-bit computers, and—for the first time ever on modern consoles—Atari Lynx and Jaguar. Players can enjoy classics like Tempest 2000, Asteroids, and Yars' Revenge alongside deeper cuts from Atari's extensive back catalogue. Accordingly, this expansion demonstrates Atari's commitment to comprehensive gaming preservation rather than simply re-releasing the same familiar titles.

According to the official announcement, behind every game are the stories of Atari—what was happening at the company and what went into creating both the games and the hardware they ran on. These narratives are told by the people who were there, providing authentic insight into gaming history. The Namco Legendary Pack therefore represents another crucial piece in understanding how these iconic franchises shaped the industry we know today.
