Combo Breaker Brings Tekken 8, Fatal Fury News

For fighting game fans in the UK, Combo Breaker 2026 brought a busy round of news, with Tekken 8 and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves both getting major character updates. The event also included fresh details for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, 2XKO and Street Fighter 6.

Bandai Namco confirmed that Yujiro Hanma, the antagonist from the Netflix anime Baki, will join Tekken 8 as a guest fighter in Season 3. The announcement trailer did not show gameplay, and Yujiro Hanma is expected to arrive in early 2027.

Season 3 for Tekken 8 will also add returning fighters Kunimitsu, Bob and Roger Jr., plus a new stage called Subsea Lockdown and the Aurora Outfit Pack. If you want the wider fighting game coverage from RetroShell, you can keep an eye on our news tag for more updates.

SNK also shared a gameplay trailer for Mr. Karate, the next Season 2 fighter for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, due on May 27. Mr. Karate first appeared as the final boss in Art of Fighting on Neo Geo, and this version appears to be Robert Garcia, a character known from both Art of Fighting and The King of Fighters.

Elsewhere at Combo Breaker, Azula was confirmed for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, with release set for July 2. Riot Games said League of Legends champion Senna will be the next fighter for 2XKO, with a gameplay trailer due on June 2 and her full addition on June 9. Capcom did not announce a new Street Fighter 6 character, but it did show new challenger screens for Ingrid's launch on May 28.

These announcements show how fighting games keep leaning on legacy, crossover appeal and long-running character histories. For more official details, see the SNK Mr. Karate page and the original Polygon report.
