The Sega 32X was an add-on unit launched in 1994 designed for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis designed to give the console more power (and a longer shelf life). It is fair to say in hindsight that it was not a Sega success on a number of levels. It sold only ~800,000 units – versus around 42 million units of the original console. Due to the low adoption, only 40 games were made across all of the regions.
The cartridges are mostly made in the same style as the original Megadrive / Master System cartridges. The games are now over 25 years old so deserve the best protection. This is where RetroShell premium game cases come in.
