The Nintendo 64, or N64 as it is often referred to, was initially launched in June 1996 in Japan, and then September in North America, before launching in Europe and Australia in March the following year. In total there were almost 400 games released for the system.
Like the Nintendo consoles before, the N64 games came in a cardboard box which meant that they were less robust and aged badly (especially when compared to Sega hard cased games from Saturn and the PlayStation hard shell CD’s). The cartridges were similar in style to the SNES carts, but a little sleeker and identified with a plastic/paper label. The console was released in 1996 so games are over 20 years old, and the labels do not age well. This is where RetroShell premium cartridges cases come in.
