The range: Launch edition. Each tee is the result of almost 10 years of development from scratch being custom-made from the bottom up. The launch editions each come individually numbered and are instant collector’s items. The launch range is limited to 50 tees per design and each is numbered.

The design: This collection, features Mario, who is one of the most Iconic and enduring characters in video game history. The main logo gives a backdrop of him jumping across the hills and pipes in one of the iconic levels that he is famous for. We have imagined that he is through with saving Princess Peach, and has started a plumbing business in Mushroom Kingdom. The year 1983 relates to his video game debut as Mario. As with the entire range, we have referenced the retro Famicom swoosh that was present on the original NES/Famicom game releases. The Japanese kanji reads “serving mushroom kingdom”.The hem has the individual garment number.

The tee: As with all Player Clothing garments, there is an embroidered neck detail, and hem logo along with being 100% cotton and made with 200 GSM weight fabric to offer you the highest quality. The iconic player logo is included in the garment label.

Interesting fact: Mario first featured in the Donkey Kong arcade game in 1981, but at the time he was depicted as a carpenter (in relation to the construction site that is the level for the arcade game). At the time he was called Mr Jumpman, and was not renamed Mario until the release of Mario Bros in 1983. During the closing ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Japanese prime minister was transformed into Mario who jumped into a warp pipe and which took him from Japan to Rio, where he emerged in the Maracanã stadium.
