The character: Luigi

The range: Launch edition. Each tee is the result of almost 10 years of development from scratch being custom-made from the bottom up. The launch editions each come individually numbered and are instant collector’s items. The launch range is limited to 50 tees per design and each is numbered.

The design: This range is dedicated to Luigi, the younger, taller brother of Mario. The concept we have used is that due to the success he had during the game Luigi’s Mansion, he is now a (unqualified) paranormal investigator. The logo features his famous adversary, the ghost Boo who is also hiding in the retro Famicom swoosh. The kanji circled translates to “Ghost!”.

The hem has the individual garment number.

The tee: As with all Player Clothing garments, there is an embroidered neck detail, and hem logo along with being 100% cotton and made with 200 GSM weight fabric to offer you the highest quality. The iconic player logo is included in the garment label.

The colours: Purple with green, white and black detail

Interesting fact: Originally just a palette swap of Mario for the game Mario Bros in 1983 (where the creator was inspired by Joust which offered a simultaneous 2 player experience), Luigi began to develop his own personality but being able to jump higher and further with less accuracy. Ironically Luigi in Italian translates to “Famous Warrior”, which is not always how his character is portrayed in games!
