London Game Boy Colour Workshop Opens Bookings
London retro gaming fans now have a hands-on way to build a custom Game Boy Colour, with workshop sessions set to run at Four Quarters Elephant Park. Led by modder Fabio, known as MillennialDad_Modding, the event is aimed at people who want to try handheld modding with guidance rather than tackling it alone.
The workshop starts at £219 and includes a full kit, with a new shell, buttons, a modern display, tools, and a Game Boy game to take home. Four Quarters Elephant Park is a retro gaming bar in London, and the sessions are designed to give attendees a working, personalised console by the end of the night.
Fabio says attendees will be able to try a range of modded retro consoles, including Nintendo, Game Gear and modern retro consoles, before building a fully working Game Boy Colour in their own style. The format is clearly aimed at newcomers as well as fans who already know their way around classic handheld hardware.
The first workshops are scheduled for 30 June 2026 and 14 July 2026, both starting at 19:00. Bookings are available via Eventbrite. For readers following more retro hardware and modding coverage, see our News tag page.
The appeal here is simple, it turns a usually solitary modding project into a social session with parts, venue support, food and drinks, and a finished console to take home. If you want the source details, the original report was published by RetroDodo, and Four Quarters lists the venue on its official site: Four Quarters Elephant Park.
