Harbour Masters Adds GameCube Support

Harbour Masters Adds GameCube Support

Harbour Masters, the team known for its careful Nintendo 64 to PC ports, is widening its work to include Nintendo GameCube titles. For retro fans in the UK and beyond, it is a notable step for community-led preservation and mod-friendly PC ports.

The move was first reported by Time Extension. Harbour Masters, formerly Harbour Masters 64, said on its Discord channel on 31 May 2026 that it would drop the "64" from its name.

At the centre of the change is Libultraship, the translation layer the group has used for its Nintendo 64 work. The team says it will be updated to support GameCube-era games, which means a more complex technical target for future PC ports.

The first project to use the updated setup will be Linifadomra's Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn, a PC port of the GameCube version of Twilight Princess. Harbour Masters member Caladius confirmed the collaboration on Discord, saying the project will be developed using LUS, the group's Libultraship technology.

That collaboration also brings Linifadomra's support and development staff into the Harbour Masters Discord, while Linifadomra keeps its creative freedom. Harbour Masters says it will provide development help where needed, plus long-term support and more visibility for the project.

The trailer for Courage Reborn shows widescreen support, unlocked resolutions, unlocked frame rates, and support for texture packs and mods. It should not be confused with Twilight Princess: Dusklight, another PC port released last month by a different group.
