Blender Bros. Returns to GBA via Piko Interactive

For retro fans in the UK and beyond, Blender Bros. is heading back to the Game Boy Advance through Piko Interactive. The company has announced a re-release of the game, with Games Press confirming that it will be available for Nintendo’s 32-bit handheld.

This is a neat fit for the GBA, a system that still has a strong following among collectors, modders and players who like original cartridges. Many fans now use upgraded handhelds with brighter screens, or play through FPGA hardware such as the Analogue Pocket.

Piko Interactive has built a name for itself by licensing older games and bringing them back as physical releases. In some cases, that means titles that were previously unreleased or left unfinished, which keeps older hardware active for people who still want to play on real consoles.

The Game Boy Advance remains a favourite because of its compact design, 240x160 screen and wide library. It also has a lively modding scene, with many owners fitting IPS screens and other upgrades to make the handheld easier to use today.

For collectors, a new physical version of Blender Bros. adds another cartridge to the GBA library. Piko’s releases are often limited runs, so they tend to attract attention from fans who like to keep boxed retro games on the shelf as well as on the console.
